I am a writer, photographer and reporter with over a decade of journalistic experience. My short fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Maudlin House, HAD,Bending Genres and Flash Fiction Magazine. As for nonfiction, I've written about a wide range of subjects—from life in New York and Japan to personal narratives. My work has been published by The New York Times, Slate, Salon, Wired, Fast Company, CNN, New York Magazine, New York Observer and Narratively. For many years, I taught English as a Second Language, most recently at Columbia University's American Language Program, and I have a class at Skillshare: Creative Nonfiction: How to Craft a Personal Narrative. I grew up in New York City and have lived in Japan, Argentina and Colombia as well as California and Texas, and speak Spanish and Japanese. I welcome comments on my stories.
